I was at a conference on Lauren's actual birthday, so Daddy and Mama J did a good job of buying cupcakes and having a little celebration for her.

Silly girl doesn't like to get messy, so she just dove into the cupcake instead of messing up her hands!
I came home on Friday night, and Lauren's birthday was Saturday at 11:00. I stayed up VERY late (Mama J did too) to decorate Lauren's birthday cake.

Here it is! It turned out pretty cute, although at 1 AM, I was disappointed with it. It would have looked better with fondant, but who likes fondant??
Lauren's first birthday guest was her friend Andy from school. Andy calls Lauren his "Tiny Lauren". Too cute!
The birthday girl with the adorable outfit Mama J got her! And, it is big enough to wear next year too!

We had hamburgers for lunch, and then on to games.

We played pin the flower on Minnie.
Of course the pinata tradition continued.
This time, we did the pull-a-string pinata. Every child had a string and everyone pulled at the same time. One of the strings was the magic string and pulled the pinata open!
Birthday cake time!
Kaci came to join in on the party. Here she is with Mama J. We can't wait until the kids can call her Aunt Kaci!
All of the kids joined in on eating cake!
Big brother enjoyed the party too!
Papa J helped Lauren blow the noise maker.
Thomas cuddled one of his favorite kiddos -- Shelby!
Then it was time for presents.
Lauren loved opening presents. It is funny how the second child really "gets" what they are supposed to do so much faster than the first child.
Hmmmm. . . what's in this one?

What a fun birthday!
