Princess Lauren

Lauren has gotten into dressing up lately. This is her favorite costume. She truly thinks that she is Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty. Any time she sees her image, Lauren says, "That's me!"

Outside Summer Fun

Is there anything better than playing outside with the water hose as a kid? Especially when it is a spur of the moment kind of thing??

Summer Inside Play

It was so hot outside, the kids spent a lot of time playing inside. One day, I was folding laundry in my bedroom and came out to find this:

American Girl Tea Party

My neighbor, Krista and I decided to take our girls to the American Girl Bistro for a tea party. We made reservations, got dressed up, and headed to our tea party.

Lauren went NUTS in the store! She is ALL about her babies! She tells everyone, "Hi, I'm Lauren. I'm 2. Jackson's 5. I have babies." Strangers in the grocery store, friends that we see all of the time, EVERYONE. She gets on the phone with Mama J and Papa J and tells them, "I have babies." Because she loves her babies, I knew she would love the store, and I was right!

Avery and Lauren at the Bistro. When we were seated, we learned that the tea party is not on the weekends, so we had to order a lunch even though it was 3:00 in the afternoon! Oh well, it was fun thought! While we were there, my niece Sarah stopped by to see us for a quick minute. She was on a college road trip with her friends and happened to be at the Galleria. I took a picture with my phone, but forgot to break out my good camera.

Summer Fun

I broke out the paints one VERY hot summer day. (We have had a VERY hot summer. It has been triple digits for most of the summer.) When I broke out the paints, I did know to take off Lauren's shirt. I should have taken a "after" picture, but I ended up taking her outside and hosing her off!

The Adventurer

As you can see, he is ready for an adventure. He has his backpack loaded down, his light saber on his belt, and his glasses ready to go. Almost every time we go outside, this is what Jackson looks like. He is ready for whatever creative adventure he and our neighbor, Avery come up with!

First Haircut

The time finally came to take Lauren to get her first haircut. She was so excited! I decided to take her to my hairstylist.

I know, you are waiting for the after picture. Can you believe that I forgot to take one?? After Lauren was finished, it was my turn to get a hair cut. I was so distracted with entertaining her, that I forgot my photography job!

July Fourth

For July 4th, we went down to College Station to spend some time with Mama J and Papa J. We had a nice visit! To celebrate the Fourth of July, we went to the George Bush Museum for a laser show (there was a burn ban, so no fireworks). Our neighbors, Matt and Krista were in town with their two kids, Avery and Luke, so we met up with them too!

Jackson got to rub the brisket that Papa J and Daddy cooked! He LOVED it!

We also brought down the Stinger. Mama J and Papa J have a large yard that the kids have fun playing on!
