Thanksgiving

This year, we spent Thanksgiving with Thomas' parents, grandmother, and great aunts in Chase, Louisiana (Thomas' grandmother's house). Chase is a VERY small town in Northeast Louisiana.

Jackson snuggled up with the Christmas blanket that Mama J made and took a little nap during the long car ride.

When Jackson woke up, he wanted to talk to Mama J and Papa J. He is really cute when he holds my cell phone to talk to them.

Honey and Poppa were excited to take Jackson to feed the chickens. When we arrived, that was the first thing that they did.

Jackson watched Poppa feed the chickens and the two very loud roosters.

Jackson got to play with his Christmas presents a little early! Honey and Poppa gave him a farm set from John Deere. It is a neat set! He loves playing with it!

Great Aunt Neely played doctor with Jackson.

Jackson was ready for bed and snuggled up to Grandma for a picture.

Pose with Daddy!

Don't forget Mommy!

We had Thanksgiving dinner on Friday so that we didn't have to rush too much on Thursday. Jackson loves to help cook and was eager to help Honey in the kitchen!

Before we left, Honey took Jackson to see the chickens one last time.

It was a fun Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Week

On Saturday, I drove down to College Station with Jackson and spent the night. I got up Sunday morning and headed to Houston to see my friend Kim and her new daughter, Addison. Sunday night, I spent the night with Shelly. Jackson stayed in College Station with my parents. I drove back to College Station on Monday to spend the night before heading back home. Jackson loved all of the attention!

I brought Jackson a present back from Houston - a Christmas train! It has a Santa Claus, a reindeer and Mrs. Claus. Jackson LOVED it! He kept making the reindeer eat the food on the second car. The last car has an oven with cookies in it. It is perfect for Jackson since he is really into "making cookies".

Uncle Jeffrey and Jackson play with the train.

Mama J bought Jackson new Christmas books. He wanted everyone to read them to him.

Jackson kept putting his cowboy hat on so that he could ride his stick horse.

Jackson in his all too cute pajamas. (I can't believe that he actually wore the hat!)

Jackson trying on Mommy's shoes. He looked like a new born calf trying to stand up!

Uncle Jeffrey playing with Jackson. Jackson adores his Uncle Jeffrey!

Before bed, Jackson kept saying, "I want Cocoa". Papa J finally took him to the pantry to get him to show what he was wanting. He grabbed the cocoa and took it to Mama J! Of course Mama J mixed up some of her homemade hot chocolate for her favorite grandson. None of us know where he has heard of cocoa before, nonetheless how he knows what cocoa is!

Weston Comes to Visit

My friend Shelly (we went to high school together, went to A&M together, and lived in the same apartment complex when we moved to Irving) came to the DFW area for her step-brother's wedding. Friday night, Thomas and I got to keep her son, Weston. Weston got to spend the night with us too! We had so much fun with him. He is such a sweet boy that loves to cuddle! I'm glad that I got the opportunity to get to know one of my best friend's son a little better.

We hung out in Jackson's room a little. Jackson did REALLY well with Weston. I thought that there might be a little green-eyed monster come out when I held another little boy, but I was wrong. When Weston was sad that his mommy was not there, Jackson kept telling him, "it's OK Weston". It was a relief to know that Jackson did not feel threatened by me paying attention to another child.

The boys took a bath. Weston wore Jackson's monkey towel. His mom and dad call him Monkey Boy, so I thought that the towel was appropriate.

The boys played together nicely after bath time. They jammed on the piano.

Jackson REALLY got into it!!

Jackson gave Weston a hug before bed. It was sweet! I read the two boys a couple of stories and then put Weston to bed first. He went to sleep like a champ! Thomas and I agreed that Shelly and Christian need to take Jackson for a couple of days to teach him to sleep!!

Hide the Nuk

Jackson and I were hanging out in my bedroom the other night. I took his Nuk out of his mouth (we are trying to cut back on the Nuk use) and put it behind my back. He saw me do it, but started asking where did it go. He started searching all around my bedroom -- behind the door, behind the chest. Finally, he found it behind my back! It was a fun game!

Behind the door? No.

Behind the cabinet? No.

What a fun game!

Wedding Weekend

Thomas was in a wedding during the weekend. He was best man for Thomas. All of the Larriviere family came in for the wedding. Jonathan also joined in for the festivities.

The Larriviere side came over Saturday morning for breakfast before all of the wedding rush took place. Jackson was excited to see Uncle "Bull".

The gang hangs out in the family room.

My brother Jonathan and I went over to the hotel that some of the family was staying at so that we could all head to the wedding together.

50's Night

The PTO at my school had a 50's Sock Hop. Thomas was out of town, so Jackson came to the family event with me. He was so much fun at the sock hop! PTO served Sonic in the cafeteria and then had the gym open for dancing, hula-hooping, jump roping, etc. Jackson was a hit! All of the kids kept coming up to him to meet him. This was also the first time that my co-workers got to meet Jackson. He charmed many of them including my principal. Jackson and I took a break from the hula-hooping to eat a Root Beer Float. My principal walked by and Jackson recognized her from earlier in the evening. He shouted, "Bye Bye!" She turned around and fell for his charm. The next morning, Jackson kept asking to go to "Mommy's School".

Jackson loved going up and down the story steps in the library.

Jackson kept trying to be like the big kids. He tried so hard to hula hoop!

One of the teachers had her baby there. Jackson was infatuated with the baby. He kept identifying the different body parts on the baby. "Eye. Ear. Nose. Eyebrow." It was cute!

Potty Time

Jackson has started to take a little interest in the "potty". He has moved up in his class and is now in the room where they are potty trained. On Saturday, Jackson told me that he wanted to potty. So sat him on the potty. AND he went number 1!! I couldn't believe it! We were so excited! Of course we had to call several family members to tell them the good news. He ended up going potty again later that day and even went number 2! I was shocked!

On Sunday, we went out and bought a potty seat to go over the big potty and some steps so that Jackson could wash his hands. Jackson was really excited about his new items, but he had NO interest in going potty again.

He is really young to be potty trained for a boy, so we will just wait and see. . .
