Easter 2012

Easter was at our house this year.  Late Saturday night, we finally had time to dye Easter eggs.  The kids love this tradition!  It is hard to squeeze everything in during the weekend that we need to get in!  Next year, hopefully it won't be so late in the evening when we get to dying the eggs.

After dying eggs, it was time to get ready for the Easter Bunny.  Years ago, Jackson decided that we needed to put carrots out for the Easter Bunny.  So, the tradition continues.  The kids put out the carrots and even water!

They also put their Easter baskets out with the plastic eggs ready to be filled.  Off to bed they went, and it took Lauren a LONG time to finally go to sleep!

Jackson left a sweet note for the Easter Bunny.

The Easter Bunny came!!

Jackson was the first to file into the kitchen.

The Easter Bunny brought him lots of goodies, and even a fishing pole and tackle box to go fishing with Daddy!!

Lauren was a little tired after staying up so late.

The Easter Bunny brought her a REAL tea set!  She was so excited!!

A chocolate bunny!

Daddy helped get the fishing pole ready.

Jackson and Lauren pretended to go fishing.

Then it was time for church.

Jackson found a rolly-polly.

The family picture.

Mama J and Papa J with two of their grandkids.

After church, we headed outside for the Easter egg hunt with our neighbors, Avery and Luke.

Ready for the hunt!

Avery and Luke came outside to join us!

The buddies!

Krista gave them directions.

The hunt was on!

The eggs were everywhere!

Lauren figured out that it was easier to leave her basket on the ground and bring the eggs back to the basket.

Lauren figured out how to pile them against her instead of getting them one at a time!  She was so fun to watch!

The race was on!

Then we broke out the confetti eggs!  We had so much fun with them!

The kids with their haul!

Right after we took the pictures, Avery snuck up to Jackson and smashed the one last egg on him!  It was perfect!

Then we went inside to open the eggs.  Luckily, we did the hunt when we did because it started raining soon after!

After the kids opened their eggs, we had a nice Easter dinner with our neighbors.  It was so nice celebrating Easter with family and friends!
