Mama J and Papa J discovered a place outside of Waco that people live a little more simply and honor skills that have been around for a long time. It is called The Homestead. Mama J and Papa J have taken several classes on spinning and weaving and woodworking respectively. Every year, The Homestead has an open house/carnival where people are invited. They had lots of food and crafting areas for the kids. I didn't take too many pictures, but the kids LOVED making their own spoon by hammering it, taking popcorn off the kernel, building their own birdhouse and toolbox, and other activities. It was a great day!
After the day ended, the kids were exhausted! I think that is a signal that the day was successful!
