The BBQ

This weekend, we traveled to College Station to see the Savells. Everyone was there including Grandma! We arrived around 10:30 Friday night and everyone was up waiting for us. As we pulled into the driveway, Thomas became excited because the bar-b-que pit was going and the briskets were on cooking. Of course Mama J and Papa J got Jackson out of the car and took him over to the pit. Papa J was in hog heaven (or brisket heaven) because Jackson kept sticking his hand out and saying, "hot". He also kept looking at the smoke and demanding that Papa J to open each door to show him the briskets and pork that were smoking in the pit. Jackson also loved smelling the smoke that Papa J would bring over to him with his hand.

On Saturday, everyone enjoyed playing with Jackson. Jackson took special notice of the Texas Aggie magazine that Papa J had laying on the ottoman. It had a picture of an Aggie baseball player. Jackson kept pointing to the picture and saying, "Aggie"!
Later that afternoon, all of the adults left for Susan Miller's wedding and Jackson stayed behind with Grandma and a babysitter. Grandma taught Jackson to sit on the stairs and look out the giant window in the entry way to see the leaves that were moving from the wind. She also taught him that God blows the wind. Jackson enjoyed making all of us sit on the stairs throughout the weekend to look at the leaves.

We left College Station Sunday night and dropped Grandma off at her house in Bristol along the way. We were thankful that Grandma was in the car! Jackson has learned to sing "Row, row, row your boat" but he can only say, "row, row, row" and then he wants us to sing the rest of the song. Grandma was able to help entertain him and sing along with Thomas and I!
