New Member to Our Family!

The day finally came! The day our new nephew was to be born! Kaci and Jonathan were scheduled for an induction and checked into the hospital the night before to start the process. Mom, Dad and I stayed at Jonathan and Kaci's to be close in case we got the call to rush to the hospital. We got up Saturday morning and headed to the hospital. After a long day, and an even longer day for Kaci, she was taken in for a C-Section. We were anxious in the waiting room waiting to hear about the new baby boy!

Finally, the new Daddy came to the waiting room. He was here! We walked into the room and oohed and ahhed over how absolutely perfect he is. He got passed around from family member to family member.

Finally, Aunt Jenn got to hold him! I cried like you would expect a Savell to cry! (Yes, there are pictures of my blubbering!)

Me snuggling him one more time.

Isn't he perfect?! Then Jonathan and Kaci asked us if we wanted to know his name. Then the big reveal came. . . meet Jack Preston Savell born February 18th! Jack is named after my grandfather (his great-grandfather). You know that my grandfather was a special man when two of his great-grandkids are his namesake! (Jackson was chosen because we liked the name, and in honor of my grandfather, Jack, my mother, Jackie, and her uncle Jack. Jack is a good name for our family!)

Poor Thomas was sick, so he did not get to meet Jack the first weekend. He was so disappointed! On Sunday, I drove home to get the kids to meet their new cousin.
Jackson had worked for several weeks on a sewing project for Jack. (I have a great picture of it, but it won't let me load it.) He made Jack an adorable stuffed dog from his sewing kit Mama J gave him for Christmas. Here's Jackson giving Kaci the dog.

Jackson showed it to Jack.

Jackson and Lauren get to see their new cousin for the first time.

Holding baby Jack. Such a sweet moment!

Aunt Shirley showed up with Grandma, so we got a double bonus!

What a special weekend for our family!
