One of the things that we were nervous about before Lauren was born was how Jackson was going to adjust. We knew he would be great with Lauren, we were just nervous on how he would react with Mommy's attention being divided between two children. Prior to Lauren's arrival, Jackson was a Mommy's Boy, to say it mildly. I think if you looked up the definition of Mommy's Boy, you would find a picture of Jackson! He wanted Mommy to do EVERYTHING with him.
Honestly, the week before Lauren was born, Jackson became another child. My sweet little boy was taken over by another child, I swear! He acted out like no other! Then Lauren came. Slowly, we saw our child become himself again. The past two weeks, Jackson has been the sweet boy that he is, AND become a Mommy's Boy AND a Daddy's Boy! If I spend time with Jackson and Lauren needs to be nursed, Jackson tells me to take care of his baby sister -- AND is happy about me taking care of her and Daddy taking care of Jackson. Jackson wants to include Lauren in everything that we do, and it is so fun to watch him kiss on her. The great news is that Jackson and Daddy are bonding more than ever. Today when Thomas took Jackson to school, Jackson asked Thomas to pick him up! Normally, Jackson asks me to pick him up from school.
I am enjoying watching my family grow and change and am so proud to be Thomas' wife and the mother to Jackson and Lauren in this great adventure we call life!
