Spring Break in College Station

My mom came up on the Monday of Spring Break to bring Jackson, Lauren and myself down for the rest of the week. Thomas came down for the weekend and brought us back home. It was a wonderful week!

Mama J got Lauren's first smile on St. Patrick's day. She kept talking to her and suddenly, Lauren smiled! Both Mama J and I yelled with delight. It was so much fun getting Lauren to smile at each of us throughout the week. She would bless us with about two smiles each day. It was exciting to see those cute dimples! Unfortunately, I did not capture a smile in a picture. I know that there are more smiles in our future though!

Jackson loved playing with bubbles. He can suddenly blow bubbles all by himself. I don't know when this milestone officially started, but it may have been this week!

Papa J and Mama J took us to the Aggie baseball game. Jackson was a bottomless pit all week after being very sick the week before. Before we went to the baseball game, Jackson ate a really good dinner. At the game, he ate a hotdog and requested a hamburger! We told him he could not have a hamburger!
Mama J gave her first bottle to Lauren.

I took Jackson to the park one day while Mama J and Papa J watched Lauren. It was fun to take Jackson to the same park that I went to as a child.

Sleeping beauty. Lauren likes to sleep with her hands up when I don't swaddle her.
Before going to College Station, Jackson made three requests for Mama J and Papa J: to make cookies, for Mama J to make Chicken and Dumplings, and for Papa J to make ribs. Of course all of his requests were met! The night that we ate ribs, Jackson tore into them! He ate 9 ribs all by himself! He really is a Savell!

Mama J with her granddaughter. Lauren loves snuggling with her Mama J.

The Rileys came over to meet Lauren. Julianne played with Jackson. He kept laughing because he had so much fun!

On Friday, we went to the Bush Museum. Jackson of course likes to help push the stroller.

Mommy and daughter at the museum.

Brother and sister together. Jackson is so sweet with Lauren. It is so hard to keep him away from her when he is sick. He loves to touch her and kiss on her. This is classic Jackson with him touching her so gently.
Jackson insisted on sitting next to the red flowers. He kept saying they smelled like strawberries!?!

On Saturday, Thomas and Papa J smoked briskets. They were delicious! Then we celebrated Thomas' and Mama J's birthdays with two cakes of course! Thomas requested a Tres Leche cake.
Mama J requested a strawberry cake. Jackson put the candles on the cakes and of course insisted on helping blow out the candles.

One last picture before we headed home. Papa J and his grandkids.
Thank you so much Mama J and Papa J for a wonderful week! We enjoy spending time with you and are grateful that you are an integral part of our lives.
