Jackson's 6th Birthday!

Jackson is into Star Wars BIG time, so of course he wanted a Star Wars birthday party. I was apprehensive at first, because I didn't know what to do, but it all came together! We decided to have his party on New Year's Eve because of scheduling conflicts with other family member celebrations. The party was scheduled at 11:30 AM. It was just a little busy getting ready for his party with Christmas being at our house, cleaning up after Christmas, taking down decorations and putting up birthday decorations. As you can imagine, it was a busy week! Luckily, I got A LOT done Friday, the day before his birthday. Mom and Dad arrived at the house Friday evening. Saturday morning was actually calm, but Lauren was having trouble with her breathing. I ended up setting Dad up with the breathing machine to give Lauren a breathing treatment and hopped in the shower. In the amount of time that it took me to shower and get dressed (but not blow dry my hair), Lauren began acting funny. She asked for another breathing treatment and kept acting like she was going to throw up. She kept wondering around the house with me following her. At that time, Mama J started getting ready to take her to the doctor for us. That is when I sat Lauren in my lap. Lauren began to pass out, and I screamed for everyone. She came too with my scream, and that is when I decided to take her to the ER. Papa J and I hopped in the car to race her to the ER, leaving Thomas and Mama J behind to finish getting ready for the party. Meanwhile, Lauren was gray, and I mean gray. Her lips were gray, her skin was gray. . . it was scary. She tried to go to sleep in the car, but luckily, Papa J talked to her and kept her awake while I raced to the ER. They took her back as soon as we got there and measured her oxygen levels. Her oxygen levels were at an 89, and that just 30-45 minutes after a breathing treatment! While I was driving to the hospital, I called my fabulous neighbor, Krista, and told her what was happening so she could help with the party. It was a weird experience being at the hospital with a child that needs you, while knowing that your other child is having a "big day" with 40 kids and parents coming to our house. Long story short, they got her oxygen levels up, and sent us home 20 minutes until the start of the party!! I don't know how it all came together, but it did! Thank goodness for family and wonderful friends!!

Because of the craziness before the party, I never got good pictures of the decorations. I did pull some things together after the party to take a picture. Here are some of the decorations:

Of course I continued the tradition of making the cake.

Jackson with his cake!

Jedi Jackson and his buddies!

Notice how Eva had to have her hair like Princess Leia's just for Jackson!

Honey and Poppa even came for the party! We were SO glad they came!

Lauren hugging Honey.

The kids ate pizza.

Then it was outside for an obstacle course to earn "Jedi in Training" certification.
Blasting the Death Star!

Everyone earned their Jedi cloaks and belts through the Jedi training course!

Then it was time to earn their light sabers. . .
Battling Darth Vador!

Certified Jedis!

Avery had to have her hair like Princess Leia's too!

The epic battle began!

Inside for cake time!
We had cake and Yoda Soda.

I think the Jedi enjoyed the blue icing!

Time for presents! Look at Jackson's face! He was pumped to get a DS 3-D!

It was a great party! And it all came together after the excitement from the morning thanks to family and friends!

Happy 6th Birthday Jackson!

Pigtails!

Lauren is getting to the age that she loves dress up, pretending to put on make up, and fixing hair. During Christmas break, she decided to fix mommy's hair in pigtails! Of course, Lauren had to match me too!

Ta-da!

Christmas Morning 2011

With my family spending the night with us, our house was full. Thomas, the kids and I all stayed in Lauren's room. It was actually fun! Thomas and Jackson slept on an air mattress while Lauren and I slept in her bed. The kids woke up early, and we had to keep them contained for a little while. Finally, it was time to wake everyone up!

Lauren was a good girl! She asked for a baby, a stroller, and a bike.

Jackson was a good boy too! He asked for a bike, a glow-in-the-dark light saber, and a Nerf gun.

The kids were excited to see that Santa came!

Jackson found his light saber pretty quick!

Santa even brought Uncle Jonathan, Uncle Jeffrey and Daddy a present too! Nerf guns!

Jackson's Nerf gun! It was a Dart Tag set that came with jerseys, guns, and darts that stick to the jerseys!

Lauren's baby. She named her Lauren!

Lauren loved her stroller, and what a stroller it is!!

Half way through opening presents, Jackson and Lauren wanted to check the evidence that Santa had come. He left a note for Jackson and Lauren. He also had dirt fall off his boots on the fireplace! Then the kids ran outside and discovered the water was gone from the bucket! The magic reindeer food was mostly gone along with the carrots!

The reindeer food and carrots are gone!

Daddy reads the letter from Santa to Jackson.

Lauren was excited about her beauty kit from Santa.

Lauren tests out her bike.

It has a baby seat on the back. Perfect for baby Lauren!

Jackson and Daddy tested out the new light saber.

Lauren continued to open presents -- slowly!

Then it was time to head outside to test out the new bikes!
Jackson loved it!

Lauren was good to go with her baby on board.

After breakfast, Uncle Jonathan started an epic Nerf gun battle. AND it was epic!!
Lauren in her jersey.

Lauren and Uncle Jonathan took cover.

Lauren reloading.

Uncle shooting Jackson.

Now that's an action shot! Notice the bullet coming out of the gun!

Jackson and I built a fort and ended up battling Daddy, Lauren and Uncle Jonathan! I think we were outnumbered. So fun!

After the epic Nerf gun battle, it was time to relax.
Lauren painted Uncle Jonathan's nails.

Jackson got out his sewing kit Mama J gave him. He's sewing a stuffed dog for "Baby Cousin".

Finally, Uncle Jeffrey arrives! Lauren shows Uncle her wings.

Now that Uncle Jeffrey arrived, it was time for the adults to open presents.

Aunt Kaci admired the table runner that Mama J gave her from France that she had monogrammed. I ended up with one too!

Mama J got new kitchen tools.

Papa J stopped unwrapping to watch Thomas open his present from them.

Thomas got an iPad!! He was shocked!!

Aunt Kaci and Uncle Jonathan play with Lauren.

Uncle Jeffrey was pumped to get a new TV!

What a fun Christmas!
