Getting Ready for Italy

We are leaving for Italy in 9 days -- all four of us! I don't know if we are really brave, or really stupid for taking two small children, but we will decide on that later! We have been planning and thinking about how to make the trip as easy and enjoyable for everyone. One of the big debates has been what to do about strollers. Originally, we planned on taking the double stroller. BUT have you pushed a double stroller long distances?? It is can be a little tiring with a 36 pound 3 year old and a 16 pound 4 month old! So, we decided to take two strollers to lighten the load and to also have flexibility. Then we decided to get two new strollers so that the wheels will be good to go (ours have seen miles and miles at Washington DC and at Disney amongst normal outings) and also to get strollers that would fold up smaller. I had saved up coupons and gift cards, and the time came to go get them. Thomas was so impressed with my savings!! We ended up taking them out for a test run last night. Here are the kids in them:

Mom and Dad - Lauren's stroller folds down and pushes so smoothly. We practiced pushing it one handed while holding Jackson's hand all around Babies R Us. (The things you know to do when you have a second child!) Jackson's is a nicer umbrella. The selling point was how it folds up so small!

Lauren likes her new stroller. We can still use her car seat on this stroller if we need to (they don't match, but that is ok).

Mom and Dad - we thought that we would take this without the car seat when we have to get on and off buses. That way we don't have to carry Lauren, the car seat and the stroller. We are also going to get shoulder pads to go on the straps to make sure the straps don't rub her.

We stopped at the park while on our walk.

Jackson loves the park!
