Day with Thomas

Since we went to Washington, D.C. when Jackson was 1 1/2, Jackson has loved trains. In fact, we bought him a basic figure 8 Thomas set not long after our trip because he was so interested in trains. Many months ago, Jon and Kate Plus 8 (one of Jackson's favorite shows) rode Thomas. Jackson has been asking to ride Thomas ever since. I found out when Thomas was coming to our area and finally the time came for Jackson to ride Thomas. Unfortunately, the weather was unseasonably cold. The morning of our train ride, there were even snow flurries -- at the end of March!! Luckily, my parents were in town and watched Lauren for us. Because it was SO very cold, and Jackson had been sick, we only rode the train and walked quickly through the tent with the little trains set up. We didn't get to do all of the other activities, but at least we rode Thomas!

Jackson wore his train engineer costume and brought along his train whistle of course.

Daddy and son before getting on the train.

My two favorite boys.

Jackson was so excited to be on the train. The train was a vintage train, and the seats even had movable backs so that you could sit facing the direction that the train was going.
The conductor came around and punched our tickets. It reminded Jackson of the Polar Express!

Mommy and Daddy with their little boy. We did notice that there were A LOT of boys on the train and very few girls. . .

Jackson quickly played with a toy Thomas before we whisked him off to the warmth of the car. It was really cold! It was a fun outing, and we will try to do it again next year!
