We had a HUGE milestone crossed last night. . . Jackson went poo poo in the potty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I know you are wondering why I am posting this in the blog. It is because this is a HUGE step! We have been working hard at him being fully potty trained since August. He has mastered the other part of potty training, just not the pooing. The doctor told us to just keep up with wearing underwear. So, we have been cleaning out underwear almost daily for months. Not fun. We have tried everything, pleading, encouraging, ignoring accidents, getting on to him, and even went out and let Jackson pick out a toy two months ago. The toy has been sitting on the counter for two months. Jackson would point at the toy and say, "I get to play with that toy when I poo poo on the potty." Nothing was working.
Last night, Thomas was giving Jackson a bath. Jackson jumped out of the bath tub and said he needed to go potty. While he was going potty, he told Thomas that his booty hurt. Thomas saw what was about to happen and sat Jackson on the potty. Suddenly, success! We were so excited and so was Jackson!!
Of course we called all sorts of people so that they could brag on Jackson. Jackson called Mama J and Papa J to tell them the good news. They had promised Jackson a toy when he used the potty. He reminded them of this and asked for a playhouse!!! As wonderful the news was, they didn't think it was quiet worthy of a playhouse! (I'm not sure why. . . :-) ) Then he called Uncle Jonathan. Uncle Jonathan had promised a toy as well. (Can you tell that this has been an issue that everyone has worked on for months?) He asked Uncle Jonathan for a pirate ship! And the phone calls continued. Finally, after calling everyone, Jackson got to play with his toy!
Stay tuned to see how long it takes for the trip to the potty for the second time. . .
