Summer Road Trip - Day 12 Devil's Tower

Mama J and Papa J had never seen Devil's Tower, so we decided to swing up through Wyoming to take a look at this fascinating land form.  It is so weird.  This random land form just pops up out of nowhere!

The area all around the base of Devil's Tower is filled with rocks.

The kids loved posing under this rock and showing how strong they were to hold it up!

This is what the base of Devil's Tower looks like. It is filled with rocks that tumbled down when the formation was formed.  Kids were crawling all over these rocks.  I ended up not letting my kids crawl on them because it just looked like an accident waiting to happen.  (I know, worry wart, right?)

This was the area behind Devil's Tower.  Notice how relatively flat it is!  So strange!

After Devil's Tower, we headed to Deadwood to spend the night.
