We weren't really worried about either us liking the food in Italy or Jackson liking it. Turned out, we were right! All of us LOVED the food!! The fresh pasta was incredible! We also noticed that because the pasta was so good, the sauces were on the lighter side and just coated the pasta. We also noticed that all of the lasagnas were different. I guess everyone has there own recipe. You didn't see spaghetti and meatballs or fettuccine Alfredo on the menus. We decided that this must be more of an American version of Italian. Another thing that we discovered and enjoyed immensely (and I continue to eat now that we are back) is cantaloupe (or melon as the Italians call it) with prosciutto. Delicious!! Another thing that I noticed was the presence of fruit everywhere. One of the options on the menu for dessert was always fruit. You would also see fruit sold in cups everywhere. We also saw a total of three McDonald's the entire week we were in Italy. That was the only fast food joint that we saw. How different from the US!

After going to the market, we stopped at a "cafeteria" as they call it and had pasta -- of course! Jackson loved the lasagna.

Yum!
