We have to go to the White House again?

Tuesday night, Kyle asked us if we wanted to go to the White House on July 4th to see Marine One land on the South Lawn when President Bush got off the plane from a trip to see the troops. We told him, "of course!" As we got ready that morning, we kept joking that we were like Forrest Gump and had to go to the White House again!

Kyle met us at the gate, we went through security, and walked around the White House (by the West Wing and Rose Garden) to the South Lawn.

When we arrived, we learned that we had just missed seeing Laura! Too bad! The group that had gathered to watch the landing waited patiently for the Marine One sighting. Kyle told us that the president would get off the helicopter, wave to the crowd and then walk into either the Oval Office or the White House itself. We all had our cameras ready, when suddenly we could hear helicopters. Three helicopters came from behind us. They circled around us and started coming into the South Lawn. Marine One landed on the ground. Two marines got off the helicopter on the opposite side that we were standing on. One marine walked around and opened the door after the blades had stopped moving. Out stepped President Bush! He waved to us as the group cheered. President Bush started walking to the White House. . .
